As of March 2, 2015, the City of Oakland (the City or Oakland) provides mandatory paid sick leave under the City’s Minimum Wage Ordinance (the Ordinance) that requires you to provide a minimum amount of paid sick leave (the Oakland Sick Leave or OSL) to employees working in Oakland.
As of July 1, 2015, California law provides for mandatory
paid sick leave under the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act (the State Law). You are required to comply with both the Ordinance and State Law.
