Reducing the Risk of Workplace Violence

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, violence continues to have a measureable impact on the workplace. Of the employees that have experienced physical and/or mental trauma as a result of workplace violence:

  • 67 percent are female.
  • 69 percent work in the health care or social assistance industries.
  • 23 percent required 31 or more days away from work to recover.
  • 20 percent needed three to five days away from work to recover.
