In response to the December 2, 2015, attack on the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, the Legislature enacted AB 44, which resulted in the addition of Labor Code sec. 4600.05. This statute requires special notice and certain automatic provisions of medical services in cases of domestic acts of terrorism. The statute's stated purpose is to provide workers injured in acts of domestic terrorism with additional advocacy services to help them navigate the medical system.
