Make clear to all employees that you expect certain work performance standards, that certain personal conduct is required in the workplace and that you will not tolerate other conduct. These are conditions of employment. Examples include requiring employees to arrive at work on time, prohibiting drinking or being drunk in the workplace, etc. The policy should indicate that violating rules or expectations will trigger discipline or immediate termination of the employee.
