After a seven-day waiting period for each claim, an individual is eligible to receive benefits equal to one-seventh of his/her PFL weekly benefit amount for each full day during which he/she is unable to work while caring for a seriously ill or injured family member or bonding with a minor child within one year of the birth or placement of the child in connection with foster care or adoption. The maximum amount payable to an individual during any disability benefit period is six times his/her weekly benefit amount, but not more than the total wages paid to the individual during his/her disability base period.1
