The IRS has released forms and instructions that must be used by employers, insurance issuers, and other entities for federal tax information reporting.
Employers sponsoring self-funded plans and insurers must report information about minimum essential coverage (MEC) provided during the prior year to all enrollees, including Taxpayer Identification Numbers of all covered individuals and the specific dates that such individuals had such coverage.
