If state and federal labor laws weren’t already enough for businesses to navigate, local ordinances also are continuing to pose a challenge for California employers. While some cover subjects already addressed under state and/or federal law — such as minimum wages, paid sick leave and lactation accommodation — others, such as San Francisco’s Paid Parental Leave Ordinance, impose entirely new requirements.
