Each employee has a right to designate a personal physician as well as a personal chiropractor and a personal acupuncturist. If an injury occurs, the predesignated physician becomes the medical provider for injury-related treatment.
Otherwise, the employer has the right to control medical treatment for the first 30 days after an injury. During the first 30 days, the employee may make a one-time request for a change of physician. After the first 30 days, the employee may choose his/her own treatment provider, subject to any applicable MPN.
