Employees Covered By Workers’ Compensation

Employee coverage begins the instant the employee begins work, unless excluded by the Labor Code. An “employee” means any person who is in the service of another person or organization, whether lawfully or unlawfully employed.1 The person can work under an oral or written contract, an explicit or implied contract, an apprenticeship or even an unlawful arrangement.
