California's Mandatory Paid Sick Leave Law Overview

With the enactment of the Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act of 2014 (the Act), California became the second state in the nation, after Connecticut, to mandate sick leave.1 The effective date for employers to begin providing the paid sick leave (PSL) benefit was July 1, 2015.​
