Dress Standards

Requiring reasonable dress and grooming standards of employees is not a discriminatory practice. Appropriate business attire may be different for men and women where there is a clear, nondiscriminatory rationale. For example, women may be allowed to wear their hair long while men may be required to have short hair, based on your need to present a professional business image. However, women cannot be prohibited from wearing pants in the workplace.1
