Social Media Still at Forefront of NLRB Activity

The NLRB increased its oversight activity relating to when employers can discipline employees for their social media postings. Recently, the NLRB issued its second report on disciplinary issues and social media behavior, describing 14 cases that present such issues.

Retaliation Is Number One EEOC Charge

For the second-year running, retaliation was the number one charge of unlawful treatment that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) received. Retaliation charges under all of the statutes the EEOC enforces accounted for more than 37 percent of all charges filed with the agency, which enforces federal anti-discrimination laws.
