Important Notice
The federal Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) was amended on January 28, 2008. FMLA now provides additional leave rights to military personnel and their families. The federal Department of Labor (DOL) has provided an additional posting to address the recent changes in the federal law.
What does this mean to you and your California business?
This is a federally required posting and must be posted next to your 2008 California and Federal Employment Poster immediately. This is an addendum and should not be posted over the current FMLA posting.
What do you need to do?
Since you have already purchased and displayed the CalBizCentral all-in-one poster-you are currently meeting the overall state and federal posting requirements. However, this FMLA addendum is required; failure to post could result in fines and penalties. Please post the addendum next to your current FMLA poster immediately. The Spanish version of the posting will be available on this web page once the language is finalized.
What CalChamber is doing for you.
You may have also heard the DOL intends on modifying the entire FMLA poster to include the current language and the addendum on a single, up-to-date FMLA poster. This is true, however; the DOL also intends to update the posting based on related proposed regulatory changes that are not yet final. CalChamber is in contact with the DOL to track the progress and associated timeline of this new, required posting. As soon as we have an update, we will post the information on this web page.
