Hosted by the California Chamber of Commerce, this annual forum gives business or local chamber of commerce leaders the opportunity to meet with peers and state policy experts to focus on priority legislative issues facing California business.

Luncheon Speaker: Communications Expert, Political Pollster and Bestselling Author

Dr. Frank I. LuntzDr. Frank I. Luntz, an internationally recognized communications expert, political pollster and bestselling author, was the luncheon speaker at the CalChamber Business Summit on June 1, 2011 in Sacramento.

Named one of the four “Top Research Minds” by Business Week, Luntz has written and conducted more than 2,000 surveys, focus groups, ad tests and dial sessions in over two dozen countries on four continents in the past decade.

His latest book, released in March, is Win: The Key Principles to Take Your Business From Ordinary to Extraordinary.

Morning Speaker: John S. Watson, Chairman and CEO of Chevron Corporation

John S. Watson, Chevron Chairman and CEOJohn S. Watson, chairman and CEO of Chevron Corporation, was the Summit's featured morning speaker.

Watson is the chairman of the board of directors and the executive committee of the American Petroleum Institute. He also is a member of the National Petroleum Council, The Business Council, Business Roundtable, the J.P. Morgan International Council and the American Society of Corporate Executives.

Morning Speaker: Dan Walters, Political Columnist

Dan WaltersDan Walters has been a journalist for more than 40 years, working almost exclusively for California newspapers. Walters has written more than 7,500 articles about California and its politics, and his column now appears in more than 50 California newspapers. His articles also have appeared in The Wall Street Journal and the Christian Science Monitor, among other publications.

His book, New California: Facing the 21st Century, is widely used as a college textbook about socioeconomic and political trends in the state.

Governor Jerry BrownGovernor Jerry Brown is the 39th and the 34th Governor of California. He was first elected Governor in 1974 and re-elected in 1978. His latest gubernatorial victory came in 2010.

Among his many activities between his two terms as Governor, Brown served two terms as mayor of Oakland and served as California’s 31st attorney general.

Yosufzai supports Chevron’s CEO and chairman on the National Petroleum Council Future Transportation Fuels Study as chair of the Chevron-led Supply & Infrastructure Task Group, and as decision executive on Downstream Portfolio Projects worldwide.
