(April 16, 2012) During a live web seminar hosted by the California Chamber of Commerce, our employment law experts will analyze the California Supreme Court's recent decision on Brinker Restaurant Corp. v. Superior Court, and its impacts on current meal and rest break requirements for nonexempt employees.
The Meal & Rest Breaks: What Does the Brinker Decision Mean for Your Workplace? Webinar is being held on Tuesday, April 17, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
The webinar will answer the following questions:
- Must employers simply make meal breaks available or must the employer ensure that the meal period is taken?
- When during an employee's shift must the meal period occur?
- What is the timing of the meal break? Are employers obligated to make a meal break available for every five consecutive hours of work?
- How many rest breaks are required during a shift?
- When must rest breaks be taken?
The on-demand webinar, which will be available for purchase beginning April 23, will offer downloadable webinar slides and a recording of the live event. Attendees will not be able to submit questions.
Customers purchasing the kit (both the live and on-demand webinars) receive downloadable webinar slides and a recording of the live event.
